Clashes Strand Passengers in Mexico

Passengers Stranded at Two Airports Amid Clashes in Mexico

Armed clashes between security forces and groups reportedly linked to a drug cartel in Mexico’s Jalisco state have disrupted civil air traffic. According to local sources, a significant number of passengers at airports in Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta were temporarily held inside terminals for security reasons.

Footage shared on social media showed some passengers taking cover under benches and tables as a precaution, while others waited inside the terminals for further instructions. Authorities stated that security measures around the airports were reinforced and that relevant units were working to bring the situation under control.

No immediate reports of injuries at the airports have been confirmed, while the broader security situation in the region continues to be closely monitored.
